Winter thoughts and summer weddings

I thought I’d add a blog on here to keep people up to date with what I’m doing and where I’m playing. It’s that time of year again when I start getting the queries from brides and grooms planning summer weddings while we’re surrounded by the deepest winter (actually, I’m never quite sure when autumn officially ends but it’s rainy and cold enough outside today to be winter, even if it isn’t).

Without getting too much like a sales pitch, my one piece of advice to people with their eyes on those prime dates in June, July and August is – don’t leave it too late to choose your suppliers. These dates are _always_ the first to go!

Believe it or not, I’m still doing music stuff – even for a few brave couples happy to take a gamble on a winter wedding, so right now, I’m in the studio sharpening up pieces for a gig on the Wirral this weekend with the covers band Fairplay, for whom I play keyboards.

And in half an hour or so, I’m on my way out to begin putting together a choir at HMP Dovegate. This is a project I’m really looking forward to.

And I’m also sharpening up some pieces for an audition I have for another band on Sunday. It’s all go!
